Opera at Jimbour is returning for the 20th year, promising a weekend of exquisite opera and chamber music at the famed Jimbour House this May as part of Qld Music Trails.

Celebrating two decades, Opera at Jimbour will transport the audience with the sounds of Mozart, Rossini, Vivaldi, and many more formidable composers. Stay for the weekend and set your own tempo, exploring more than 16 hours of exquisite opera and chamber music performed by world-class musicians.

Jimbour House will come to life again with a dizzying array of some of Australia’s most elite performers. The opera will feature a star-studded lineup of internationally renowned soloists and chamber musicians from Opera Queensland, Ensemble Q as well as a 26-piece Orchestra from Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.

For Opera at Jimbour’s 20th year, the famed estate will boast its largest program ever across a spectacular weekend including breathtaking Gala events on the Eastern Lawn, exquisite chamber music in the old plane Hangar, intimate recitals inside the opulent Drawing Room, and exclusive tours through the halls of historic Jimbour House.

Guests can savour the local produce, browse crafts by local artisans, and sample bubbly beverages at the Jimbour markets. They can make a weekend of it by camping on the grounds, and enjoy the delicious offerings from regional providores on site.

There will be a Jimbour House Long Lunch in the Courtyard, where guests can relax and enjoy the surroundings of Jimbour House in this exclusive courtyard lunch experience. Canapes and a welcome drink will be served on arrival followed by a gourmet buffet banquet and desserts. A bar will also be available to purchase additional drinks.
