Stage one of the $500 million retail development at Grand Central will open its doors to the public ahead of schedule on Thursday September 15. Approximately 40 to 50 retailers have been secured to open in September with the majority of stores trading in time for the Carnival of Flowers.
Centre Manager for Grand Central, Shaine Beveridge, said this was news Toowoomba residents had been waiting for. “I am pleased we have been able to bring the opening of this stage forward, and what is even more exciting is that there is much more to come,” Mr Beveridge said.
The new shopping precinct will welcome heavyweight national and international retailers including H&M, Forever New, Seed Heritage, Country Road, Universal Store and Rodd and Gunn with more retailers to open between the Carnival of Flowers in September, and Christmas. “Stage One, Grand Central’s two-level retail galleria, will be progressively opened through to Christmas with a fashion focus that we know will be enthusiastically received by locals looking to express their own person style without leaving Toowoomba,” Mr Beveridge said.
The entire development is scheduled to open in the first half of 2017 with a total of 140 retailers. Mr Beveridge said he hopes Grand Central will become a landmark urban destination incorporating entertainment, leisure and retail for Toowoomba.
