The Regional Queensland Showcase will take place June 12 and 13 at the Brisbane Convention Centre. The showcase is designed to highlight what makes regional Queensland an attractive place to live, work, learn and invest.
All Queensland’s regions will be represented at the public event – from Far North Queensland to Wide Bay Burnett and Darling Downs South West. Over the two days, guests can attend seminars, the signature lunch event, and see various performers like the fabulous Rockhampton band Busby Marou. Speakers and regional Queensland ambassadors Shane Webcke and Darren Lockyer will be on hand, drumming up support for the country lifestyle.
The ‘Building Our Regions Lunch’ is the highlight of the event. Hon Dr Anthony Lynham, Minister for State Development and Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, will be giving the keynote address. Fellow speakers for the event include Su McCluskey, CEO Regional Australia Institute, and Joe Hoolahan, Co-Founder and Director JESI. Media personality and poet Rupert McCall will be the master of ceremonies.
Other speakers not be missed are Caroline Cameron and Alistair McLeod. Caroline is an author, speaker and lifestyle coach specialising in helping people make the move from city to country. McLeod is a well-respected celebrity chef and Darling Downs ambassador. He will be showcasing Queensland’s best produce in a series of cooking demonstrations.
Friday 12 June is the business and investment day, while Saturday 13 June is the community day, open to the public from 10am – 5pm.
