Last week’s Girls Got Heart charity ride involved 30 women cycling 750 km over five days to raise awareness for rural health and funds for this year’s beneficiary, RACQ LifeFlight. The two worked hand in hand and succeeded in raising significant funds.
Cycling from Brisbane to Meandarra via Roma, the riders raised more than $128, 000. Girls Got Heart supports Queenslanders living in rural and isolated communities experiencing a shortage of health services and RACQ LifeFlight send helicopters to serious accidents where early medical intervention can be the difference between life and death. Most missions are performed with helicopters operating out of Mount Isa, Bundaberg, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Brisbane.
