When the going gets tough, the tough get creative. The Rural Hero Grant aims to help those creative people make a difference in their communities.
The Aussie Farmers Foundation is offering $50,000 to people or groups who have found a way of helping their farming community. Nominations close on Wednesday, 31 May. Four finalists will then create short, informative and engaging videos
to explain their projects and how it will help farmers and their communities. These videos will then be released to the public, not only to raise awareness of the issues faced by these communities and the solutions being proposed, but also for a vote.
To be considered, projects must address at least one of the Foundation’s five key focus areas: economic and environmental
sustainability for Australian farmers, disaster relief for farming communities, country kid’s health and healthy eating, food waste and food relief, and mental health and farming communities.
Finalists will be announced starting in August and the winner will be awarded in September.
