The Spring Polo is fast approaching and to celebrate the glamorous event Grand Central Shopping Centre is sharing some spring fashion tips highlighting the dos and don’ts of field-side fashion.

Grand Central Marketing Manager Marieke Bridgeman says she is excited to be partnering with the must-do event for the third year and happy to share some of tips and tricks to nail the dress code.  For this Spring, Bridgman said, women’s fashion is centered around chic, understated elegance whereas men’s field-side fashion reflects dashing and dapper trends. “With over 130 fashion and beauty retailers, Grand Central is ideally placed to get you ready for the big event,” she said. Fashion on the Field prizes will not only be awarded to the best-dressed ladies and gents but the celebrated competition will feature a children’s section. This year the Spring Polo invitation extends to the whole family and so too do the fashion tips and tricks.

Grand Central advises that 2019 Spring says swish – ladies are to opt to adorn full-length floaty frocks, jumpsuits in playful prints, crisp all-white numbers. This year fascinators and stilettos are out – wide-brimmed hats, panamas and even headscarves fit the polo vibe, says Ms. Bridgeman. For ladies looking for a little extra height try wedges or platforms. For the gentlemen, tailored blazers, chinos, and linen shirts are a definite do for this year’s event. It is also recommended to keep it personal with touches of jewellery, colourful pocket squares and of course, sunglasses. “Our advice is to keep it classic and to have fun with some colour,” Bridgeman says.

A digital library of the most fitting looks for this year’s polo is being displayed now at the centre’s Retail Galleria for those who need a little extra inspiration.
