Toowoomba residents will have the opportunity to join SBS River Cottage Australia‘s Paul West and Get Grubby TV‘s Costa Georgiadis at this year’s Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show.

Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland CEO Damon Phillips says with the growing population comes a need for emphasis on sustainable farming and consumption practices. It is this belief that has spurred him to ensure that the line up of this year’s show provides entertainment, while also leaving show goers with “food for thought”.

“Paul West, who wrote The River Cottage Australia Cookbook, will be sharing his journey into sustainable living and how the combination of farming and cooking leads in all sorts of surprising directions at times,” said Damon.

“Costa Georgiadis, a landscape architect, host and co-creator of Costa’s Garden Odyssey (SBS), and ABC’s Gardening Australia, will be showcasing the wonders brought to the world by soil and water.”

At the Royal Show Paul West will share his insights into the seasons, planting and livestock at the showground’s Tastes of Queensland Kitchen.

Paul will then host a happy hour evening session at the Lion Craft Beer Bar at 5pm each evening, demonstrating the perfect pairing of food and beer.

Costa will also be at every day of the show hosting workshops in the Garden and giving away his best hints, tips and trademark “Costa” moments at Pohlmans Vege Patch. Daily at 10:45am Costa will also discuss healthy foods in the kitchen.

The Toowoomba Royal Show runs from 12 to 14 April.
