Toowoomba Anglican College and Preparatory School (TACAPS) will swing open its doors for the annual Community Weekend beginning Friday 19 October. The weekend is one of the most anticipated dates on the school calendar, bringing together a number of family-friendly events for the school and local community to enjoy.

A highlight of the weekend is the school’s Grandparents Day, an event at TACAPS that has always held special significance to the school community. It is an occasion to recognise and celebrate the important role grandparents play in our families and society as they share their wisdom, skills and experience with younger generations. It is with great pleasure and a sense of honour that TACAPS again welcomes its grandparents and special guests to share their stories and memories with its students.

As part of weekend celebrations, TACAPS will also host the Cloisters Art Exhibition under the stars in the heart of its campus. Encompassing the theme A Clean and Healthy Planet, the exhibition will be a lively expose of student work wrapped up in a winter market-style event. The evening is made complete by the TACAPS Past Students Association annual cocktail party A Date with the 8s in the J H Fairfax Library. The weekend will culminate in the action-packed TACAPS Fete on Saturday 20 October, featuring an array of activities to entertain the whole family. From rides, slides and gourmet food stalls to rock climbing, laser tag and an animal petting zoo, it is sure to be an exciting fun-filled day.

More information about the weekend’s events can be found on the TACAPS website. Also mark your diary for TACAPS Family Tennis day on Sunday 28 October and Golf Day and Great Night Out on 16 November.
