Texas Golf Club hosted its first Pink Ribbon Breakfast on Sunday 20 October. Close to 100 locals from the Texas community participated in the silent auction, raising $3500 for breast cancer research. The event saw two speakers from the community discuss their breast cancer journey. Both Mary Schwartz and Irene Thompson have recovered from the disease, however that did not stop the audience shedding a tear for them. Funds raised at the breakfast will be donated to the  National Breast Cancer Foundation to assist in targeted research focusing on the prevention, detection and treatment of metastatic breast cancer.
