Downlands College has won back the O’Callaghan Cup after a nail-biting clash with Toowoomba Grammar School on Saturday afternoon.

Downlands had the lead at  26 – 12 by half time but Grammar fought back hard in the second half.

Supported by a crowd of thousands, both sides put on a tremendous show with the final score 38 – 33 to Downlands.

Downlands’ Captain John Moloney joined Grammar’s prop Sam Doyle to earn the best-and-fairest players on the day.

The O’Callaghan Cup, which is in its 64th year, attracts thousands of visitors to Toowoomba including many past students of both Toowoomba Grammar School and Downlands College.
