High energy all-girl group The Supreme Dreams are coming to Toowoomba. Taryn Stewart, Giuliana Russo, and Naomi Summers play the roles of Tammi, Cindy, and Kiki, performing a musical tribute to vocal powerhouses such as Diana Ross, Tina Turner, and Aretha Franklin.
The trio of singers will be using their 60s charm to help local indoor cricketer, Paul Lochel raise funds to take him to England to contest the 2016 Indoor Masters World Series in October. Mr Lochel was selected after the recent 2016 Australian Masters Indoor Championships in Mackay where he was the leading over-35 run scorer. “I’ve never had huge aspirations of playing for Australia but it’s awesome to be selected and I’m looking forward to the opportunity,” Mr Lochel said.
To assist Mr Lochel, The Supreme Dreams are offering a special ticket called ‘Paul’s Fundraising’. These tickets cost $45, $10 of which goes to Mr Lochel’s fundraising efforts. Normal full price tickets are $40, but do not have the feel-good factor attached.
Giuliana Russo, who joined the group in 2015, said that The Supreme Dreams are looking forward to bringing their glamourous show to the people of Toowoomba. The ladies will perform chart-toppers such as You Can’t Hurry Love, Say a Little Prayer and Blame it on the Boogie, which are sure to get the audience out of their seats and dancing. “It’s physically and vocally tiring however I always come away from the show feeling so happy especially when the feedback from the audience starts to roll in. It’s great being able to take the audience back into the Motown era!” Ms Russo says.
