Golden Guitar winner Tom Curtain releases his new album, We’re Still Here on 15 November, 2019. This is his fourth album. Curtain’s new album gives music aficionados insight into his personal stories, intermingled with upbeat tracks. The album celebrates the hope, resilience and pride of regional and remote Australia.
We’re Still Here starts with a catchy banjo-driven tune, In The West. Moving through the tracks, the songs take listeners from Kimberley to his home state of Northern Territory through Central Queensland and back again. There is something for his fans of all ages. A highlight of the album is She Gave Us The Song, a moving tribute to Joy McKean which sees Tom joined by Lee Kernaghan and Sara Storer.
The album sees the Golden Guitar mixing deeper tracks and story songs with rocking numbers that will have fans taking to the dance floor, but the theme of celebrating Australia and our unique way of life flows throughout. “I love storytelling and there’s a few good yarns in there as well.” says Curtain.
Curtain and team, including newest recruit Harry Hugo Curtain born on November 2, will hit the road at the end of November. They will tour through some of the most remote parts of Australia to the coast on the We’re Still Here Tour through to March 2020. His team of Katherine Outback Experience horses and dogs will accompany the troupe. There will be an hour of horse and working dog demonstrations followed by an hour of live music. Curtain’s troupe is visiting Toowoomba, QLD on 4 January, 2020.
