Proving Queensland’s love for all things floral, the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers (TCOF) has won The Richard Power Award for Destination Marketing at the 2019 Queensland Tourism Awards. The event took place at Novotel Twin Waters Resort, Sunshine Coast on 8 November, 2019.

TCOF has won the Gold in the Major Festival and Events category for three consecutive years at the State and National Tourism Awards. It was also inducted into the Australian Tourism Hall of Fame in 2018. The Richard Power Award for Destination Marketing recognises creativity and innovation in a fully integrated destination marketing campaign designed to attract visitors to a region or destination.

TCOF is synonymous with the Toowoomba Region, welcoming thousands of new and returning visitors every year. An estimated 250,000 people attended across the 10-day period. This year’s event also saw a number of impressive results including 1700 people participating in the 70th Grand Central Floral Parade and over 80 floats as well as around 28,117 attendees at the Heritage Bank Festival of Food and Wine, and a sold out Orchid Society Spring Show.

2019 marked the 70th year of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, and The Queensland Tourism Award is yet another feather in the hat for the TCOF community!
