Tourism Darling Downs has launched the Toowoomba region’s first visitor’s guide on Sunday 17 June at its June Tourism event. This is the first guide of its kind to be published in the past 10 years.

Tourism Darling Downs Chief Executive Officer Ruth Wetmore has said they have commissioned and part funded the Visitor’s Guide as a way to showcase the region to the tourism market. “We want to celebrate the incredible experiences of the region, and encourage our visitors to come, to stay longer, spend more – and tell their friends,” said Ruth. “One of our core strategies at Tourism Darling Downs is to wow our visitors with the wonderful experiences – culinary, art, adventure, heritage – and this is exactly what the guide promotes.”

More than 30,000 copies of the 134 page guide have been printed and will be an invaluable tool for our Tourism Operators, Visitor Information Centres and Wellcamp airport. It is a way to share experiences with guests hungry for adventure in our beautiful region. An online version will make it really marketable across Queensland, and even further afield. In addition to distribution through the local network, the guide will also feature at expos, on airlines, major tourism events – and in Beijing for the 2018 China Australia New Era Health Summit later this month. The guide will give visitors to the region a true account of what is offered and at the same time showcase hundreds of operators in the region.
