The second annual Toowoomba Writer’s Festival will take place on November 14, 2015. Great news for the literature enthusiasts of the region, this year promises to be bigger and better than the inaugural 2014 event.
The one-day program is packed with great speakers, competitions and events. Whether you love literature, you’re a budding new novelist or prefer poetry, there is something for everyone. The guest speaker line-up includes a number of well-known authors, including fiction and nonfiction writer, Sally Breen. Sally won the Varuna Harper Collins manuscript prize for her memoir, The Casuals, in 2010. Crime fiction writer Robin Hillard will also be speaking, along with children’s author, Yvone Winer. Author J.M. Donellan will be speaking on the topic, ‘What Role does Fiction play in the Modern World?’
The Writer’s Market will be selling a range of fabulous books with different authors in attendance, starting from 9am on the day. The Women Writers’ Network will be selling books and reading from their newly published anthology, Our Women’s Work and Colleen Keating will be selling and signing her poetry collection, A Call to Listen. There are plenty more exciting and talented authors attending the day, so be sure to check out the program.
The winners of the 2015 Toowoomba Writers’ Festival Literary Prize will be announced on the day and the winning entries will be published in an anthology put together by the Fellowship of Australian Writers Queensland.
