The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation is calling on craftsmen and DIY enthusiasts to upcycle wooden pallets into useful items and furniture to raise funds to help sick children in hospital for this year’s Triple M Darling Downs Give Me 5 For Kids Appeal.

Registrations are now open for the community to sign up to build a pallet creation which will be auctioned off at the Toowoomba Orthodontists Pop Up Pallets Cocktail Evening on Friday 26 July.

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy said following on from the success of last years event the Foundation is excited to see what our local craftsmen create. “We had such a wonderful outpouring of support in 2018 with so many incredible creations from relaxing outdoor furniture to side tables and even a rocking horse auctioned off to raise funds for the Toowoomba Hospital Paediatrics Unit,” she said. “Whether you’re handy with the tools or love a good challenge we welcome our local community, businesses and groups to register. We can’t wait to see what everyone creates!”

Doctor Chris Turnock from Toowoomba Orthodontists said he and his team are very excited to be on board again for 2019 and helping to give back to the local community. “It’s an absolute privilege to be part of the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation Pop Up Pallets event for the second year running. We hope the community really gets behind the event and dig deep to help the sick children in need,” Dr Turnock said.
