Retreat from the cold winter outdoors into the warm studios to create and paint at the USQ McGregor Winter Retreat.
Participants will learn new skills and further develop existing artistic knowledge across five inspiring days from July 1 to 5. Held at the University of Queensland’s Toowoomba campus, the retreat allows for complete immersion in a workshop appropriate to each art enthusiast’s skills. A host of talented and acclaimed art tutors from around the country will guide the workshops, allowing participants the opportunity to learn new techniques from professionals in the field. A variety of workshop options are available catering to all skill levels and a variety of mediums.
This year, USQ welcomes several tutors to McGregor for the first time. Prolific floral oils artists Marcel Desbiens, drawing tutor Richard Klekosicuk, talented ceramicist Peter Biddulph and printmaker Rhi Johnson will all be making their first appearances at the event. These new to McGregor tutors will be joined by a popular mix of returning artists including watercolourist Terry Jarvis, portrait artist Robyn Bauer, Trisha Reust and Craig Penny amongst others. The diverse mix of tutors ensures the retreat can assist artists at all stages of their creative journeys across many artforms.
