This week the University of Southern Queensland welcomed 28 new members of staff from Toowoomba, Ipswich, and Springfield through their ‘Onboard at USQ’ development program.
The development program went for half a day and the new staff members were given the opportunity to meet fellow colleagues and learn more about the university. Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Jan Thomas gave an address outlining the opportunities, benefits and values of USQ.
Jamie Reid, a Stores and Distribution Specialist at USQ Ipswich, said the program has “given an insight into not just the benefits of working at USQ, but also what a diverse place it is. It’s welcomed us into the workplace, and it was good to hear from representatives of each of the sections to find out what’s on offer.”
Presentations offered in conjunction with the program covered HR Learning and Development as well as Client Services, Marketing and Student Attraction, Health and Safety, Campus Services, UniSuper, Career Benefits, Workplace Relations and Diversity, and Fit and Well.
