Lucas and Brooke Wuersching married at Gabbinbar Homestead with the ceremony at Humeridge Church of Christ on 15 November, 2013 in a beautiful ceremony with all of their closest friends and family. Lucas and Brooke met at their church in Hume Ridge and seven months later, after his 21st birthday dinner, the romantic Lucas proposed at a Toowoomba lookout in the rain.
Lucas, the youngest of four boys, has grown up and lived in Toowoomba throughout his life. His parents are Sue and Les Wuersching. He went to school at Christian Outreach College high school and worked as a builder for his father. During his engagement to Brooke, Lucas moved to St George and worked as a builder for S&S Timmer Construction. He started to build their future home. Now married, he still enjoys his work in construction.
Brooke, who has a twin brother and a younger sister, lived in St George and went to boarding school at Concordia in Toowoomba. Brooke’s parents are Sharon and Craig Saunders. Brooke finished school and moved to Toowoomba; she studied beauty therapy whilst working at Pure Indulgence Beauty Salon. Following her engagement to Lucas, Brooke opened her own beauty salon, Shea Beauty. During the wedding plans, Brooke and Sharon went back and forth between the two regions to organise the perfect wedding.
Brooke and Lucas’s ceremony involved all of their closest relatives and friends. Brooke’s maid of honour was her younger sister Ashleigh and her legal maid of honour was her life-long best friend, Jess. Her bridesmaids were her friends, Melissa, Alice and Claire. Lucas chose his friend Ashley to be his best man and his friends Mark and Anthony as groomsmen. His additional groomsmen were his brother Nic and, twin of the bride, Brandon. Brooke and Lucas truly were surrounded by special people for their big day. The happy couple travelled to Fiji for a beautiful and relaxing honeymoon.
