The Glennie School seniors of Toowoomba have marked the end of the school term after jumping into the annual and highly anticipated local pool to celebrate.

The year 12 students jumped for joy at The Clive Berghofer Sports Centre on Wednesday the 16th of September as they participated in the event after completing their term three exams. Head of middle and senior years, Mr Russell Baldock said ‘it is a celebration of their entire academic life from their beginning as a kindergarten, prep or even Year 7 student,” he said.

Commemorating their school achievements and how quickly their time is passing the pigtails worn on each of the students represents an integral part of the pool jump tradition, which is reminiscent of their earlier days as younger students. The poignant reminder portrays how much they have grown academically and personally from their time at Glennie School.

“What a wonderful way for Glennie girls to celebrate their academic journey,” Mr Baldock said. The graduating girls will dress up for their formal and other annual schooling traditions in term four.
