The Bavarian Toowoomba is adding a special event to its five-week calendar of Oktoberfest celebrations. In addition to its line-up of Oktoberfest menus, limited-edition biers, fun foodie challenges and the chance to win a trip to Munich, The Bavarian Toowoomba will host an Oktoberfest party on Saturday 13 October.

Rockpool Dining Group Chief Executive Officer Thomas Pash said the festivities taking place are a sensational addition to an already packed Oktoberfest calendar. “We’re giving Toowoomba locals a true taste of Oktoberfest by adding some exclusive activities to the calendar,” Mr Pash said. “A jam-packed line-up of entertaining games, fantastic live music, family-friendly entertainment and awesome prizes are just another reason diners should come on down to celebrate Oktoberfest at The Bavarian.”

The party will start at midday with an official Oktoberfest keg tap, before The Bavarian’s lively oompah band takes to the stage to give guests a taste of traditional Bavarian entertainment. During the afternoon, diners can battle it out for the title of Oktoberfest Strong Man and Woman in Toowoomba’s first official stein holding competition, or compete in The Bavarian’s Sausage Throwing Competition. Winners will each receive a $50 restaurant voucher. A traditional accordion player will take to the stage in the evening, providing the opportunity for guests to sit back, relax and try some Oktoberfest menu offerings.

Toowoomba locals are encouraged to don their finest lederhosen or dirndl and strut their stuff for the Best Dressed of Oktoberfest competition at 7.30pm. The best dressed will be crowned the official King and Queen of Oktoberfest and receive a $50 restaurant voucher, with prizes to be won for the kids too. The Oktoberfest celebrations will continue throughout the evening with more live music, yodelling and traditional slap dancing.
