Food Leaders Australia (FLA) and the Toowoomba Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) has secured Aussie innovator, entrepreneur and television “SharkSteve Baxter to visit the Darling Downs and Maranoa for a regional tour to meet locals to discuss and inspire businesses innovation across the region on Thursday 19 to Friday 20 July.

The two-day tour was secured by FLA as part of the Advance Queensland Regional Innovation Program and sees Steve visiting four towns across the region. FLA General Manager Bruce McConnel said he is excited to have the panel of entrepreneurs share their knowledge and inspiration for business innovation. “This special tour will inspire our regional businesses and remind them you don’t have to be a start-up business to be innovative,” said Bruce.

The two-day 1400 kilometre whistle-stop tour will include community events and industry tours in Toowoomba, Dalby, St George and Roma. Speakers include Jasmin Robertson from Roza’s Gourmet foods, Victor Vicario from Arc Hardware incubator and Sheona Devin IT company founder and Angel Investor with Sydney Angels and Brisbane Angels.

“It’s very rare to have a panel of experts of this calibre in a room together wanting to share their knowledge and expertise,” Bruce said.

Steve Baxter is best known for his appearance on Channel Ten’s television show Shark Tank, but is also one of Australia’s most successful tech entrepreneaurs, an active investor and mentor to startups. He is the founder of Brisbane technology startup hub River City Labs, the mission leader for Startup Catalyst and the CEO of Transition Level Investments. As Queensland’s Chief Entrepreneur, Steve is championing Queensland’s startup eco-system.
