Be a Fairholme Girl for a Day has been running for more than a decade. Visiting students meet girls in their peer year, enjoy a special morning tea and lunch and attend a number of specialist classes. Fairholme College Head of Middle School Jaye Ross believes the program helps to form strong connections.

“The friendships between girls often begin on this day. So many of our girls who are here with us now started their Fairholme journey at Fairholme Girl for a Day and they will often tell me who they remember meeting on their FGFAD. It is special to see the beginnings of these friendships.”

Originally the event was run once a year, but Ms Ross says due to popularity it is now held three times a year. “This year we have been overwhelmed with the number of students wanting to come and visit Fairholme for the day, and so to keep it as a unique experience for each visitor, we’ve had to cap numbers.” By capping numbers, Ms Ross says they can continue to show visiting girls what a real day at Fairholme involves. “It is a great way for these girls to transition into Fairholme. A fabulous way for them to meet Fairholme teachers and find their way around our beautiful campus so that when they do start with us they are ready to step straight in and be a part of Fairholme.”

On Thursday 8 August, Fairholme will again welcome girls to spend a day as a Fairholme girl. The College strongly recommends registering early.
