The second annual Fairholme Facets of Fairholme exhibition will be staged at the College Assembly Hall starting in early August.

Coordinator Karen Hayward is excitedly preparing for the event. “Artists, whether they were past or present students, family members and staff, responded to the call to participate and were thrilled to be part of a very special boutique art exhibition,”

said Karen, who acknowledges Toowoomba is already home to a number of successful school art exhibitions, but says awarding artists, both emerging and experienced, is Fairholme’s point of difference, and one that encourages future artists.

“The Facets of Fairholme exhibition aims to provide a unique platform for artists, and provide significant recognition. The exhibition catalogue not only shares the artists’ statements regarding the ideas behind their works, but also celebrates the many different pieces.”

The awards include: Open Artist, Emerging Artist, Packers Prize, Fairholme Old Girl Association Award, and Acquisition and Student awards.Mrs Hayward says the College hopes to continue the new tradition of its boutique art exhibition.

“We would like an exhibition that celebrates the works of a wide range of talented artists.”

The 2018 Facets of Fairholme art exhibition will be held in the College Assembly Hall, with the official opening taking place on Friday 3 August.
