Western Downs Regional Council is bringing the legendary hero and outlaw Puss in Boots to the big screen these Easter school holidays with free community movie nights featuring Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

The free movie sessions will be held in Moonie, Kogan, Bell and Dulacca during the second week of April. Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Kaye Maguire said community movie nights were a wonderful opportunity for people to get out of the house and enjoy some family friendly fun with members of their community.

“On the Western Downs we know that it’s the people that make it, which is why Council is so excited to deliver projects that bring our residents together to share some fun and make use of some of the region’s much-loved small halls and community venues,” Cr Maguire said.

“Who doesn’t love meeting up with friends and family to watch a great movie, diving headfirst into your yummy snacks and having a laugh whilst watching a feel-good film? Residents of the Western Downs not only value great school-holiday entertainment, but also the opportunity to catch up with friends and neighbours in a relaxed, family friendly environment.

“Snacks available for purchase, please bring cash. Then all you’ll need to do is pack your picnic blankets, head on down to the venue and enjoy the adventures of Puss in Boots under the open skies.”

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish follows Puss as he discovers that his passion for adventure has taken its toll and that he has burnt through eight of his nine lives. Puss sets out on an epic journey to find the mythical Last Wish and restore his nine lives. For movie locations and more information, contact Council on 1300 268 624 (COUNCIL) or visit wdrc.info/movie-night
