The Western Downs 2018 calendar of events has something for everyone with festivals and exciting new events  accompanied by signature country hospitality. The Jandowae Timbertown Festival, held every second year, returns in 2018 from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 June, generating a hive of activity in the charming town of Jandowae.

Celebrate the town and its significant timber milling history, located a mere 24 kilometres from Jimbour, boasting a population of 1000 which swells to at least 4000 with the full program of family friendly activities on the program for the festival weekend. The brimming program themed Reflections on a Timbertown: Celebrating our Pioneers, Past, Present and Future, features live music, market stalls, roving entertainment, Poets Breakfast, art and craft displays, chainsaw racing and sculpting, fireworks, barrel racing, street parade, Outback Sausage King Competition, and more.

Be sure not to miss the Barefoot Bowls and Official Festival Opening on the first day of the festival, with whip cracking sure to start the weekend off with a bang. Visit the Fine Art & Photography Exhibition, featuring a mix of more than 20 talented local and regional artists, sculptors and photographers. Take in the Timbertown Festival woodchopping competitions, chainsaw racing and sculpting as they fill the air with sawdust and send wood chips flying.
