Combining food, wine and art, the USQ McGregor Autumn Retreat in Stanthorpe in March is a creative weekend not to miss.
The autumn retreat involves spending a weekend immersed in creativity surrounded by the glorious vineyards of Stanthorpe. Retreat participants can indulge their senses in visual art workshops or try their hand at cheese or winemaking. Retreat goers will be treated to a world-class dining experience built on the finest local produce, while sampling some of the best wine southern Queensland has to offer. The weekend begins on Friday 29 March 2019 in the stunning vineyard surrounds of the Queensland College of Wine Tourism at Stanthorpe. After registration at 2pm, visual art classes commence.
Participants can opt to enjoy local wines and cheeses following the welcome address at 5pm. Saturday’s workshops commence at 9am with morning tea and lunch catered by the award-winning Varias Restaurant. An optional dinner at Varias that night allows those engaged in the retreat to converse with new friends and further enjoy the local produce in a stunning setting. After another creative morning on the Sunday, including brunch featuring more local produce by Varias, classes conclude at 2.30pm. Guests can then make their way home in time for the start of the working week, relaxed and refreshed from their time at the McGregor Autumn Retreat. USQ invites budding artisans to pick their workshops, pack their bags and get ready to escape to Autumn Retreat this coming March.
