While many of us may be in disbelief that 2020 is just around the corner, there is no mistaking that the festive season is in full swing.
“Whether it’s attending your office Christmas party, get-togethers with family, or going out on the town with your best friends to celebrate New Year’s Eve – it’s always more fun with a new outfit!” Grand Central Marketing Manager Marieke Bridgeman said. Ms Bridgeman’s advice is to think seasonal statements – playful pieces with ruffles and cheeky cut-outs, jewel-inspired tones and bold bright hues. Try for an outfit with some serious sparkle in rich jewel tones, then pair it back with a subtle metallic heel and add some bold statement jewellery, guranteed to make a splash.
“Or for those who lean more toward tradition, while it may not seem revolutionary, never mistake classic for tired. Classic pieces are the hallmark of your festive wardrobe, and can be easily elevated with a little sparkle on your feet and statement-making jewellery,” she said. White has long been a popular and somewhat traditional choice for Christmas Day. “Soft, floaty maxi skirts can also make the perfect strapless midi dress. Layer with fine jewellery, pair back with a heel and you will be picture perfect.” For the gentlemen – suit yourself up in a two-piece linen suit, and add a pop of colour with a printed shirt for some festive fun. For Christmas Day, a tailored pair of shorts is made complete with a sports coat. Keep the sneakers at home and try a pair of brogues or loafers.
