Westridge Meats has won Queensland’s Best Ham at the Annual Australian PorkMark Awards for a third time. It is the only Darling Downs Butcher to be awarded at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show 2019, walking away with a Silver. Recently, Westridge Meats also won big at the Australian Meat Industry Council‘s Outback Regional Awards.

The owner of Toowoomba’s Best Ham, Luke Jensen of Westridge Meats says “This year, (I) have worked tirelessly at perfecting our recipe. I have recently changed my cooking technique”.

All Westridge Hams are cooked onsite, using local pork and are proud of sourcing all their meat locally. “Our Pork Producers are fourth generation pig farmers from the Clifton area.  ‘Buying from the Bush’ is so important, especially through times of drought as local producers help keep these small rural communities alive” said Mr Jensen. “When buying ham this Christmas, check the Country of Origin label, as over 75% of all ham sold in Australia is from imported pork, which is not helping Aussie Farmers” added Mr Jensen.

Westridge Meats has donated over $1000 to local schools and charities through their Holiday Ham Drive initiative and that total continues to grow.  “Many schools and organisations are hosting a Holiday Ham Drive to help raise much needed funds.  It’s our way of giving back to our local community and help spread the Christmas cheer” revealed Mr Jensen.

The Best Ham of Toowoomba is bound to get sold out quickly. It is recommended to order online or instore beforehand. Delivery within South East Queensland is also arranged.
