Toowoomba locals are rejoicing as legendary favourite and iconic pub, The Spotted Cow, will soon reopen under new ownership after temporarily closing during COVID-19.

Now owned by the region’s new neighbour Hallmark Group, The Spotted Cow is set to welcome locals, families and tourists back to the ultimate place to celebrate ‘til the cows come home – whether that be in the gaming room, over a round of pool, for a special event, a schooner of beer, or at the steak house with the finest meat straight from local paddocks to plate.

‘The Cow’ has proudly served Toowoomba for more than 120 years and Hallmark Group Director Scott Hempel is eager to bring back the legendary local with an improved experience in a location the community already know and love. “The Spotted Cow renovation and reopening is an exciting project for Hallmark Group and myself. Growing up in the Darling Downs, I certainly feel a strong local connection and appreciation for the venue’s history and charm, which we look forward to honouring,” Mr Hempel said.

“The Spotted Cow has truly become an institution central to the local community – a place where guests can sink a schooner, yarn with a neighbour and feel that genuine sense of community the Darling Downs is known so well for.“We will be celebrating this history and local reputation by continuing to provide the best classic pub eats, gaming, live sport and entertainment in the Darling Downs region.

“The friendly and warm hospitality service will remain a hero offering for The Spotted Cow, combined with a delicious modern menu. “Our steak will be a star offering thanks to our new dry-age cabinet, where we’ll be storing and dry-ageing our beef to maximise the consistency and intensity of flavours – we will also have an impressive floating wood fire grill,” he said.

Mr Hempel added that Hallmark Group are committed to ensuring the venue’s heritage, charm and country setting is maintained.
