The Junior Production of Alice in Wonderland at St Ursula’s College was a success when it was performed earlier this year, in June 2021. Students in Years 7 to 10 came together for the performance, which was directed by two Year 12 students: Talyssa Lees and Rachel Verdon. The performance played to sold-out crowds.

The performance, an adaption of Lewis Carroll’s famous novel of the same name, followed the character of Alice as she explores the wild and fantastical world of Wonderland. Meeting anthropomorphic creatures, dangerous madmen and unstable royals, Alice embarks on a journey following the white rabbit across this strange land.

The funds raised by the performance went to the charity of choice: the RSPCA, an independent charity that looks towards the welfare of all animals across the country, with societies in every state of Australia. These societies assist in rehoming animals, investigating allegations of animal cruelty, and helping to educate the population on animal welfare and responsible pet ownership.

The performance encapsulated the strong community and creativity of St Ursula’s. An independent Catholic girls’ school with a dedication to the education and care of young women, St Ursula’s continues to empower its students for their future in a global community and has done so for 90 years, as of 2021.
