Finalists from around the globe have been selected and formally announced for the prestigious University of Southern Queensland (USQ) 2018 Alumnus of the Year Awards.

The USQ Alumnus of the Year Award recognises outstanding alumni for their achievements within their professional and personal lives, and for inspiring fellow alumni, current students, and the wider community. Some award categories include Academic Alumnus of the Year, Young Alumnus of the Year, to Indigenous Alumnus of the Year. Making major contributions in their respective fields and community groups across the world, this year’s finalists embody many of the values and pillars of the University. Finalists include Stacey Burrell, Chia Yoong Hui, Heidi Dugan, Professor Michael Kimlin, Dr Anne-Marie Nielson, Direpang Segosebe, Rachel Ranton, Dr Jessa Rogers, Hoa Cruickshank, and Kevin Wilson.

An Awards Luncheon will be held on Friday 17 August at the Empire Church Theatre, Toowoomba to celebrate their successes. The event will include drinks, canapes on arrival, lunch, and sweets following the ceremony.
