Back for its 154th show, the Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show 2018 will be held from 12 April to 14 April. Families and friends can expect to enjoy world class acts like the Brophy Brothers Circus, exhilarating rides and competitions like the Wood Chopping Championships.

The Wood Chopping Championships premiered for the first time at the Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show in 2016 and has grown each year to be a huge draw card for those wanting exciting, nail biting thrills. This year will be no different as it will again be a huge draw card for those seeking the World Title 300 millimetre Underhand Championship on Friday and the Queensland 300 millimetre Standing Championship on Saturday. Not forgetting, there are also five classes of Chainsaw racing during the show, so there is sure to be no shortage of good firewood.

Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland CEO Damon Phillips is looking forward to welcoming several Axemen from around the country who will soon be descending on Toowoomba to compete. “These nominees have traditionally represented every state in Australia and it’s not every day that these modern-day lumberjacks find their way onto the Toowoomba show grounds so it is not to be missed,” he said. With more than $16,000 worth of prizes and serious bragging rights up for grabs the competition is fierce. “You won’t regret it!” Mr Phillips added.

The competition and shows will be held at Amarok Arena, a premier Wood Chop Arena in Regional Australia with extra seating and stands available for those wanting to enjoy the events. The Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show  is expecting at least 40,000 patrons across the three days with the dedication and effort of more than 500 volunteers assisting.
