This year’s USQ Artsworx Autumn Retreat comprised beautiful views, delicious food and wine, and highly trained tutors. The retreat launched in Stanthorpe on Saturday 24 March, offering four interesting workshops at the Queensland College of Wine Tourism.
Tutors helped participants, ranging from experts to beginners, to hone their skills in certain creative areas held in the workshops, such as artisan cheese-making, wine-making, portraiture and watercolour.
All who were involved in this retreat were welcomed with a glass of local showcase wine, and pleasantly left Sunday evening following a grand buffet lunch.
The highlight of this inclusive weekend was the dinner at the Varias Restaurant, where people enjoyed seasonal local produce matched with fine wines.
This was followed by an intimate music performance by acclaimed singer-songwriters Jen Mize and Mark Sholtez.
Retreat goer Jodie Cummins from Brisbane chose to participate in the portraiture workshop. “Excellent tutor, high work output, high standard. Good food and work area – great!” said Jodie.
