Toowoomba local Megan Carige has released her new children’s book Happy Day Out, showcasing family-friendly adventures in Toowoomba.
Happy Day Out is an engaging book encouraging kids to be interested in their beautiful, green, cultural and historical Garden City community.
Megan spent her childhood exploring Toowoomba, but like many others she moved away after school to the big smoke. She spent most of her adult life living in different Australian cities, and exploring different cities across the world.
When she returned to Toowoomba 20 years later, she wanted her young sons to experience all the fun of her childhood memories.
That journey of sharing her own childhood with her sons is how this book came to be.
The story follows Megan’s sons Finn and Henry, as they explore places like Queens Park, Laurel Bank, Picnic Point, the Empire Theatres and the Darling Downs Zoo.
Readers also enjoyed this story on local singers being scouted for the opera.
