Sally McLean and Cameron Beckett are this year’s school captains at Dalby State School. Both leaders are working hard to ensure all students feel included.

Sally commenced her time a Dalby SS in 2013 as a Prep student. She has a long connection with the school, with her great grandmother also attending Dalby State School 92 years ago. Throughout her schooling Sally has participated in many extra-curricular activities including Optiminds, CGen, Concert Band, Senior Singers, Netball, School Musicals, and most recently Leadership Workshops. An avid performer, Sally is looking forward to appearing as Nala in the school musical, The Lion King. She hopes to foster a spirit of inclusivity in the school community this year.“ I get everyone involved in activities and really like to help them out. I hate to see kids at school being left out or sad and will always try to help them feel included.”

Cameron prides himself on striving for excellence in all his endeavours, receiving numerous academic, sporting and music awards during his time at Dalby State School. He has represented the school in the All Schools Rugby League Competition, as well as the Rugby League Bunya Districts. Cameron hopes to become a professional rugby league player in the future, or a paramedic to fuel his desire to help people. Cameron believes it is important to build resiliency and hopes to inspire others who are going through social and emotional challenges to follow their dreams.
