An applicant for the prestigious Tuckwell Scholarship, Patrick Coleman is well on his way to accomplishing his dream of achieving an OP1 and a place studying mathematics and physics at Canberra’s Australian National University.

As well as Pat’s outstanding academic performance, he is dedicated to his role as St Mary’s College Leader. “I am very privileged to be a representative of the College. It’s about being a role model, being a good person and presenting yourself to the school community in a positive way.” Since joining the St Mary’s College community in Year 5, Patrick has excelled academically, achieving an A grade across his senior subjects while completing a first year Economics course at USQ in the Head Start Program. The Year 12 student previously placed first in Queensland for the Australian History Competition and was named in the top one percentile in the Australasian region in the University of New South Wales ICAS English exam.

Patrick is dedicated to social justice and the College’s extracurricular program. He has enjoyed working with children from disadvantaged families through the Edmund Rice Camps and is also a member of the College Choir, plays cricket during the summer months and is an active participant in the St Mary’s College Senior Debating Team. Pat believes St Mary’s College and his teachers have been integral in helping him reach his full potential, academically and personally.
