Year 12 Toowoomba Grammar School Senior Prefect and School Captain Ronan Austin has been a role model and regular participant online providing support and companionship to other Toowoomba Grammarians during Coronavirus enforced home based learning.

In his academic program, Ronan studies English, Mathematical Methods, Biology, Psychology, Ancient History, and Drama with his favourite subject being Psychology. He is an extremely capable academic who last year was awarded Dux of Year 11 at TGS. Ronan is also Leader of the Toowoomba Grammar School Acting Academy (TiGAA).

As an incredibly involved student in the co-curricular program, Ronan has earned House Honour Colours for conducting House meetings, volunteering for visits to BUPA Aged Care, and being a member of the White Ribbon Committee and other charitable organisations. Last year, Ronan was the Vice Captain of the School’s 16A Rugby team and was Captain of the Queensland Country Under 16 Rugby team.

In Ronan’s words, “Throughout my time at Toowoomba Grammar School, I have witnessed the proud history of student leadership from those who have come before me. I understand the philosophy of servant leadership and leading by example. I hope I bring a strong sense of compassion and teamwork to the school community. I also believe it is vital to increase the education and awareness boys receive about mental health to increase the safety and enjoyment of all students.”
